Windsurfing boards

Windsurfing boards are one of the must have items for windsurfing. Unlike helmets, or stylish swimsuits, it’s fairly impossible to even begin to windsurf without a proper board. The history of windsurfing is not long, it came to prominence within the last two decades, but within that time a surprising amount of specialization has occurred.

The first windsurfing boards were just slightly modified surf boards. They had a dimple in the middle into which a sail was set, albeit not very securely. The sail functioned well in low to moderate winds, but if it encountered anything too drastic, it was more likely to just blow out of its position, wreaking havoc in the process.
